Reflexology being performed on a foot in Bristol by JDS Reflexology - logo JDS Reflexology - 'Good for the Sole' main header
What is reflexology?
Whilst the art of reflexology dates back to ancient Egypt, India and China, it wasn’t until 1913 that a gentleman named Dr William Fitzgerald introduced the therapy to the West as ‘zone therapy’. He noticed that reflex areas on the feet and hands were linked to other areas and organs of the body within the same zones.

In the 1930’s Eunice Ingham further developed this zone therapy into what is now known as reflexology. She observed that congestion or tension in any part of the foot is mirrored in the corresponding part of the body.
How can reflexology help me?
Reflexology can be used to help restore and maintain your body’s natural equilibrium. This gently therapy encourages your body to work naturally to restore its own balance (called homeostasis).

Reflexology releases tension, removes energy blockages and has been shown to provide natural, effective help with a variety of health issues such as:
  • Back pain and muscle stiffness
  • Migraines and headaches
  • Sleep disorders
  • Hormone imbalances
  • Digestive problems
  • Infertility
  • Depression
Who can benefit from reflexology?
Reflexology is suitable for all ages and may bring relief from a wide range of chronic and acute conditions. Following an initial course of treatments, many of my clients choose reflexology as a regular way of enhancing the body’s natural healing ability and maintaining good health and wellbeing.

Reflexology is recognised by many doctors and other health care professionals as a well established, respected and effective therapy.
